Education – History - Inspiration
1/12/25
The world is at a crossroad today - we have the ability to decide what type of life we want to live in our ever-changing world. Featured Documentary Holocaust Survivor, Ben Lesser, says, “I have had the opportunity, as an eyewitness, to not only speak about what happened during the Holocaust, but to inspire others to learn from the Holocaust. Ben has dedicated himself to not just teaching about the “how”, “when”, and “why” of the Holocaust but its impact on humanity.
Ben did not get to decide what upbringing he would have – the decision was taken away from him. However, since he left the Concentration Camps and found himself alone with no education, no language skills, and no business skills, he resolved that he would waste no time starting to live a life with meaning. He has learned a great deal about both human nature and himself. He understands that so much of what happens in life is the result of seemingly simple choices.
Ben says that life is the sum of choices. While individuals can’t always choose what happens to them, whether it’s a crisis or calamity, people can choose to let it ruin their lives or learn from it and move forward – it’s possible to live through extreme circumstances and commit to a life that has meaning – a life that matters.
Interviews with Educators, Community Leaders, and Holocaust Resource Centers reinforced the importance of Ben’s life-long dedication to this message.
Lesser’s world today has no borders, no watchtowers, and no barbed-wire. His message is powerful: true liberty and living a life that matters depends solely on how we look at ourselves and others, and then how we treat ourselves and others. It’s on us to promote values, prevent violence, and, protect the future from history’s faults and failures. Ben shows us how simple it really is: mutual love.”
The Documentary, “Life That Matters,” imparts this poignant wisdom to anyone who truly wants to live a life that matters.
